CONVIASA’s president Ramon Celestino Velazquez posted on Twitter on Tuesday that this document grants international recognition in the flight process.
CONVIASA certification is succeeded after the US Department of the Treasury applied a series of measures on February 7 against the state-owned airline and its aircraft fleet, as part of the policy of aggressions carried out by the administration of Donald Trump against Venezuela.
At least 40 of the company’s aircrafts were included to the list of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and they are prohibited from flying.
The action also identifies the CONVIASA aircraft fleet as a blocked property of the Government of Venezuela in accordance with Executive Order 13884 of August 5, 2019.
The measures adopted by the White House intend to overthrow Venezuela and force the removal of constitutional President Nicolas Maduro from office.
