A proclamation signed by nearly 25 political and social organizations of this nation, qualified as unacceptable that the Foreign Affairs Minister, Roberto Alvarez represents the country attached to the ultra-right wing group (the Lima Group) for the intervention of the United States in our America.
The international right, the document stated, intends to attack rich Venezuela and bring to its knees an entire people that has been self-governing for more than 20 years, creating public policies to free itself from exclusion.
Likewise, he said that Venezuela, even with the blockade, maintains the model of equity and social justice adopted in 1999 by President Hugo Chavez, has its Constitution, it has a democracy and, therefore, it is not the Dominican Republic or any other country in the world that should tell him when, or how, its elections should be.
The people, with the vote in free and democratic elections, are the ones who choose their representatives, he added.
President Nicolas Maduro, he recalled, was elected in free and democratic elections and the next legislative elections on December 6, will be determined by the Constitutional order, which means that the National Assembly must be renewed in January 2021.
Likewise, the signatories asked the head of state, Luis Abinader, to refrain from placing the Dominican Republic «as an instrument of U.S. imperialist policy, and from executing the infamous programmatic content of his administration’s foreign policy, consigned to a foreign policy for the government of change 2020-2024.»
