At the inauguration of the international conference «Chile 2020: Green Hydrogen Summit, President Sebastian Piñera pointed out that hydrogen will allow the country to bet on balanced development, promote the growth of human capital, and create an engine of «economic progress and reactivation».
According to Piñera, green hydrogen will allow Chile to export renewable energies to a world that is making progress rapidly to decarbonization and needs clean and affordable energies.
Hydrogen is considered the fuel of the future due to its abundance, high energy value and zero pollution, but its production demands large amounts of electricity, which can be supplied by renewable sources, so Chile holds an advantageous position to have huge eolian and solar sources.
